Zoe is Sick Again

Today, Zoe missed her Muzik Garden class due to fever. Zoe was very uncomfortable and woke up several time during her nap. Her fever came on and off, and due to the medication, Zoe was quite blur. We followed her closely the whole day just in case her leg felt wobbly and fell. Even though Zoe was sick, she was an active girl and kept going to her toys corner. Just hope my little girl could recover fast.

18 months and 5 days

Zoe is an energetic baby & loves to explore on feet! At 18 months, she loves to run. Whenever Mummy says 'READY', Zoe will utter RUN and run at the same time. Like other 18 months toddler, Zoe likes to play with big bolster and don't be surprised she can actually wrap around the bolster. Now, her little fingers has better grasp, Zoe is able to pull the cart around the house and stopped at her 'little kitchen' for a cup of tea. These activities occupied the little girl for half the afternoon and it helps to keep Zoe entertained in the house.

Zoe is 18 months old

Time passes fast. Zoe is now 18 months and she has progressed since. She has grew from a toddler to a little girl. It's easier to talk to Zoe now as she has widen her vocabulary each day. However, it's also a challenge for us as Zoe starts to throw tantrums whenever she failed to do task independently.

As for socialization skill, it take time for Zoe to break the ice and open to strangers. Therefore Muzik Garden is a starting point for Zoe to learn discipline and calm down with the help of music. Zoe started Music for toddler when she is 16 months old. Finally we see some progress now. Zoe is able to follow the beat of rhythm with instruments; she's using her drumstick. Right now, she's more receptive to the teaching in Muzik Garden and very excited whenever we told her that it's time for music class and teacher will have instruments for her to play on.

Oh yes! Since Zoe is already 18 months, this morning Zoe is quite OK to let Mummy to brushed her teeth with her 1st toothbrush. Let's hope every morning I can clean her smoothly without chasing her around the house. :)

Trip to Melacca

Before I forget to update the recent trip for Zoe, I better start to pen down our trip to Malacca. Actually we planned this trip is because Daddy needs a break from his work and wanted to spend some time with his little princess. Well Malacca is a best option as it's not a very long journey to drive.

30th Nov 2009

We reached Malacca at 3pm. Since Zoe has a long nap in the car, she's ready for some adventure. But Gong Gong and Po Po were exhausted so Daddy and Mummy had to entertained Zoe while Gong Gong took a nap.

Well, not long of course with Zoe bouncing on the bed, therefore at 5pm we went for an early dinner with Nyonya crusine just next to our hotel. By the time we finished dinner, Zoe is ready to sleep, which then Gong Gong and Po Po put her to sleep while Daddy and Mummy venture out for more food :)

1st Oct 2009

At 10 am, there's a knock on the door. Finally Ah Bu and Su Yin Chie Chie made it to Melacca. Without any delay, we went to Jonker Street for Chicken Ball Rice as Ah BU and Su Yin Chie Chie have not had any breakfast. However, during the meal Zoe has been very unsettled and reluctant to take her rice and chicken! Well, she had her milk before we came out. Yes, Mummy worried her little princess will be hungry!

Since we're in Malacca, we brought Zoe to Formosa Fort for exploration purpose. Not so much on going up to the fort(well, we all get discouraged with the the flight of stairs, what's more with a little girl who loved trying on the stairs. The alternative and most convenient way to do this is trishaw ride in the city. Zoe enjoyed the ride as she had a glimpse of things she's familiar with from her book; boat, train and aeroplane and of course riding on a trishaw is really new to her.

Later, we reached Portuguese settlement for dinner. It's the jetty that captured Zoe's attention. She kept stopping and looked into the sea. This is the first time she encountered such a big pool of water! Also she's fascinated with the wave washing the stone near the walkway. I'm sure this trip was an eye opener for her.

2nd October 2009
We're back home now and Zoe is going through her books and was delighted to see things she saw in Malacca . She was very excited to show off her trishaw, ship, and seaside.

Will plan more short trip for Zoe to explore more!.

Happy Birthday, Ba-Ba

10 Oct is Daddy's birthday and Zoe has given Daddy a big..big present by calling him Ba-Ba for the first time. It was about 2 days ago, while Daddy is playing with Zoe, the little girl without any help called Ba-Ba. Definitely a Daddy's day!

Another dinner again. This time we're doing it at IOI Mall so that we could get some entertainment for Zoe while waiting for Daddy to finish work. Obviously, Zoe is enjoying herself with Merry-Go-Round and reluctant to stop until we allow her to go for a 2ND ride! Quite fun to see Zoe starts to open up for new things. When she was younger, we can't get her on a horse ride without hugging on her.

Whenever we go out for meals, we usually order something that can be shared with Zoe and while we're eating she can feed herself.

'MA-MA"

I've been waiting for this moment for 16 months and now, finally Zoe knows how to call out Ma-Ma. Whenever I asked her to look at Mummy, Zoe will go 'Ma-Ma'. Thank God Zoe start calling or else we might end up at the doctor her for a consultation.

It's not easy taking care of Zoe. It require a lot of patience especially toddler at her age needs a lot of encouragement to help them to develop. Every time when Zoe called me, we'll hug her and praise to ensure what she's doing is right.

We look forward for Zoe to add on her vocabulary. 'Ma-Ma' is a good start.

Celebrating PO PO's birthday

This is a backdated entry. This year we decided to have the birthday party in Jogoya and of course Zoe was present as well. As usual, Zoe is very excited on the surroundings and can't keep still.

Frequently, we have to take turns to bring Zoe out for a walk while waiting for her food as she starts to grab the Shabu-Shabu that Daddy plan to enjoy. I guess she feel more comfortable outside the restaurant which gave her more space to roam.

With Zoe's curious look, we can't help it but to take more pictures of her curiosity look. Loot at her, she's actually looking at the lantern outside Jogoya Restaurant.

While Zoe was roaming outside, Kao Fu and Su Yin Cheh Cheh took the opportunity to tantalize the foods and beverages in the restaurant. I can't imagine the amount of food they have taken while we're outside!

Although it's a quiet celebration, it's quite content and happy at the end of the day. Of course, Zoe's Mummy was exhausted after the dinner as the little girl is still too excited to sleep and has stay up till 10pm (Zoe usually sleeps at 7pm)

Saturday, October 3, 2009

Yesterday we celebrated Moon Cake Festival a day early. Last year Zoe was just sleeping through the celebration. This year, she's not gonna miss it but she to enjoy herself even tough she's curious why we have to use candles when 'light light' is still on.

Zoe becomes very excited when Auntie Rinna brought new newborn puppy, Fido. Recognizing Fido instantly (Zoe was introduced to Fido last week when she visited Yee Po Agnes), Zoe wasted no time and start to pat Fido and following him wherever the little puppy plan to explore
All the activities really consume Zoe's energy and for the first time she fight with Kao Fu for nuggets. It's very unlike Zoe, who is a picky eater and frequently she will push us away whenever we introduce new food to her. Anyway, that night she enjoyed her nugget very much although I don't encourage on nuggets at early age. Well, just for this time.
I can see that Zoe enjoy being with people especially young children. Being the only toddler in the family, she misses being with her little friends so we have plans to bring her for trip or meeting with some outstation relative end of this month.

Potty Training

At 15 months, Zoe is exposed to potty! It's very difficult in the beginning to get her to sit on her potty and because of this, Zoe found it difficult to poo! To avoid this situation, we only let Zoe sit on her potty every morning after her feed (coz usually that's when Zoe poo) and after 3 weeks, our little girl knows what's potty for and will notify us that she needs potty there and then. Finally, we've got Zoe on potty.

Zoe Loves Music!

Zoe has always love music. She will stop and look whenever there's musci on the TV. She's so excited when Zoe realise that Mummy mobile phone has music!!

Learning from adults, when she got the mobile phone, she will put to her ear or start to dance when music starts.
Hope Mummy can find her little radio for kids. Let's see.

Zoe @ 15 months

Recently Zoe has develop an attachment with soft toys. She grew to like teddy bear bear, rabbit and doggie. Zoe likes it a lot when Mummy talked to her via bear bear. This is a progress; previously Zoe need ample time to get used to new toys.

At this age, Zoe clearly understands mumm...mumm....means food! Mummy allow her to snack in between meals on her favourite biscuit and sometime oatmeal bread to add in variety. Mummy found that when Zoe is open to more food, she's more attentive during meal time. Now, Mummy is trying to show Zoe can also use spoon to feed herself besides using her fingers. At the moment, Zoe is not quite use with spoon, so more effort is required. Don't give up, Zoe!

Since 13 months, Zoe has been introduced to solid food such as pumpkin, cauliflower, broccoli, tomato, carrot, chicken and fish. Zoe loves her pumpkin porridge. Next step is to introduce Zoe to beans and other vegetables, which Mummy is still looking for recipe.

Mummy out there any suggestions?

Zoe @ Lucas 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday, KK a friend of mine celebrated his son's 1st birthday and insisted us to bring Zoe along. We were quite reluctant as Zoe goes to bed at 7.30pm! So, yesterday morning I was talking to Zoe about birthday party by showing how the animals in her story book having a party. She's quite attentive when I explained to her about party.
It works. Zoe managed to stay up and she's really enjoying herself with some of the food while playing her new toys. (Mummy has to get Zoe the same toy as the present she gave to Lucas). Zoe wasted no time to explore the place and loves to walk about the buffet line when people gather for food and around the pond looking out for more fishes!

At home Zoe loves hugs and kisses from us but when Lucas kisses Zoe, she brushed him away and try her best not to be kissed again!! Daddy was happy as he would not need to worry about her daughter being to open!

This is Zoe's 1st party besides her own and it's quite a success. Looking forward to bring Zoe for more outings!

Zoe's a Brave Girl

In a week time, Zoe will be 15 months old. Today, we finally managed to get her injections, after 3 visits to doctor due to fever recurrence. Daddy and I has expect to have a Baby crying out of the consultation room after 2 injections. However, when we let her 'borrow' her favourite toy from her paediatric, Zoe stop crying and starts to wave to other kids when Gong Gong send her home first.

It's a joy to see Zoe growing up even though there are times that I lose patient talking to her. She doesn't seem to understand at all! But I know I'm rest assured that as parent we need time to gather our thoughts and that goes the same to Zoe as well. I've learned not to be so pushy and let her learn at her own pace.

Zoe's Emotional Needs

At 14 months, Zoe has started to throw tantrums to get what she wants. The other day she cried when Mummy doesn't allow her to play with her Doreamon cabinet. She doesn't stop crying until Mummy allow her with her desire and the articles proves handy when Mummy use her 'Moo...Moo' soft toys to divert her attention and IT WORKS....!

As Zoe grows, her emotional needs increase together. She knows when other scold her or laugh at her and she either cry or sulk. From the positive side, from this expression I understand Zoe better and can gauge what upset her or motivate her.

Let's see what Zoe will develop next month.

Zoe's Vocabulary

It has been a month since my last update. Even though I stopped writing but Zoe's keep growing. We fetched Zoe back from my mother in law's last Wed. Zoe was so excited to go home even though she's really sleepy that we could not open her eyes. Anyhow, her enthusiastic was now her pillow. Every morning when she woke up, the first thing she brought out from the room is her pillow.

Today, Zoe was pointing to her pillow and blurted out Pooh! My girl finally can pronounce Pooh correctly. Then, she pointed to another pillow and say Bear. There's nothing better compare to seeing your own child learns more words every day. Zoe is now able to say Pooh, bear, book, bird.

Look forward for Zoe to call me Ma-Ma and not Ma-Ma to replace her unknown words.

Down with Flu

Zoe's has been down with flue for 3 days. Poor Girl, she has been rubbing her nose and cry when it's too painful after sneezing. These days, Zoe has not been eating well as she starts to push away her mil whenever she is being fed. Today, it's slightly better as she can finish her fish porridge even though she still push her milk away. Is that normal for a year old toddler?

Well, I guess the next time when Daddy and Mummy is having flu, Zoe should sleep with Gong Gong and Po Po.The consequence of sleeping with us is too much to bear. Hope Zoe's flu can cure by today.

A Big Step for Zoe

Today, 21st May 2009, Zoe has step out her first few step without support. It is a start to a new way of exploration for my little girl. Only 2 days before her birthday, Zoe's is preparing herself for another leap to another year.

Time really passes fast. Thinking back a year ago, in the middle of the night the whole family was waken up as it's time to bring Zoe to the world, and Zoe's arrival, the sleepless nights. It's already 1 year pass! Happy Birthday, Darling.

My 1st Birthday

17th May 2009 -Unofficially, today is Zoe's 1st birthday. We woke up early in the morning in order to take pictures with her in front of the "teddy bear" cake. Of course she loves teddy and try to touch it. We have no choice but to give Zoe her favourite biscuits to divert her attention from the cake. We have decided to have 'bear' as the theme of Zoe's cake as Zoe has known bear bear (that's Pooh Bear since she's born)
The birthday is quite a success where Zoe's little friend and, family and relative all turned up for the mini party and have left some messages for Zoe to ponder when she grow older.

So Much Happened in A Month

It's exactly 1 month I did not penned down anything in this blog, but life goes on and Zoe keep growing and learning. Zoe is now 11 months and has learned to picked her food and put straight into her mouth...and of course she enjoys it a lot!
Not only that, Zoe finally found her 'best friend' - her toy duck that she has decided to include her friend in all her trip (even at times Mummy is not too happy to have her friend in the bath as this means longer bath time!As the wheather became very humid we decided to spend the weekend in Genting Highlands. This time Zoe is more familiar with the surroundings and excitedly rush to Ronald McDonald's when we brought her to McDonald's for breakfast. She spent about 15 mins lingering at the bench with Ronald. Not only that, Zoe was more receptive when I put her on the horse ride. Eventhough we did not left her alone on the ride, it's a good start for Zoe who was afraid to go for rides.

Last week, Zoe suddenly showed us that she has learned shake her head and seems to enjoyed her newly acquired talent! And of course she kept showing it off and being the little princess of the faimily, she got all the praises she needs.

Getting to know Zoe

It has been 10 months and Zoe is still the youngest family member. Still the precious little princess to the whole family but we do see that Zoe is developing her own personality this few weeks. Zoe's a good impersonator and has learn some funny expression especially from Kao Fu.

Yesterday, Tai Po has bought Zoe some little bouncy ball ( knowing my daughter wouldn't settle down with just soft toy) has keep Zoe busy for quite a while. When Zoe first saw the little round thing, she doesn't know what to do with it and not sure what it can be done. So, Yi Po step in and taught her how to bounce and throw ball. Within a few minutes, Zoe is busy looking for partners to play with her. However, at this time, being the little princess, she did not bother to pick up her toy until today Kao Fu force her to learn how to pick up her little ball when it's stick under the chair. Kao Fu did not allow her to play other toy until Zoe learn to retrieve her stucked ball. That's how Zoe learn to pick up her new toy when it roll to the other corner of the house.I guess it's time Zoe should learn to be responsible for her own toys.

It's strange how baby can learn so fast and this is the time we should spent more time to teach them. As a FTWM, it's challenging but seeing how fast Zoe can learn, I wouldn't want to regret if I have not spent enough time with her during her learning phase.

Genting Here I Come Again!

Like Daddy and Mummy, Zoe loves to go Genting Highlands. The weather and scenery have captured Zoe attention to explore further. This time our trip mark Zoe's 10 mths old. Compare to the first time we introduced Zoe to this place (when she was 3 moths old) this time Zoe seems to understand more where we are bringing her. She knows that it's cold outside and have to wear her thick clothing before going out.

This is also Zoe's first meeting with Ronald McDonald's. During the last trip Zoe was frigthen of the 'big man' rowing the boat when we went on a boat trip in the indoor theme park. That's why Gong Gong was showing Zoe how to 'sayang' Ronald and step by step Zoe went nearer to Ronald and gain more courage to touch Ronald and even to sit on Ronald(not for long though!)

Zoe's Second Trip to Penang

Recently, Zoe has her 2nd trip to Penang since 4 months ago. This time Zoe accompany Mummy, Gong Gong and Po Po to Mummy's cousin wedding. Zoe has been a good girl throughout the trip, most of the time, Zoe was sleeping especially with the cloudy whether that shade her from the sun.

By the time we reached Penang, Zoe is fully awake and ready for some action! When Zoe reached Mummy's cousin house Zoe start to 'crawled' wild when she saw the little BINGO (that's what Zoe knows about dog). Instantly, Zoe and BINGO clicked well and BINGO even shared her toy with Zoe!

This trip Zoe enjoyed more compared to her 1st trip as she now learn to explore her surroundings especially the nature. Zoe seems to have liking over birds and keep looking up for one. Since we're staying in the chalet in the club house, it definately the right place for Zoe!

Fever and Sore Throat

These days, Zoe was down with fever and sore throat. Poor Baby.....Zoe keeps waking at night feeling feverish and hot. Her fever has been on and off for 3 days, which means Zoe has been on antibiotics for the past 3 days. After 2 dosages of medicine, Zoe become smarter now. Whenever we try to feed her medicine, she seems to know and starts kicking and pushing us away. Well, this means it's more difficult for us to feed her medicine.

It has been hard on Daddy and Mummy. Having to wake up in the morning for work is getting more challenging especially when Zoe is feverish, she keeps waking us up to get soothing from Daddy and Mummy!

Hopefully the 3 of us could get some rest tonight so that we could enjoy the weekends together. It's exciting to think about the weekend as we plan to bring Zoe to a trip to Penang to attend my cousins wedding. This is the second wedding dinner that Zoe will attend. Let's hope that Zoe is more comfortable this time!

Shopping in IOI Mall

Zoe's uncle is getting married this month, therefore I've decided to bring Zoe to IOI Mall to shop for new clothing. While Zoe and Gong Gong's checking out for the next store to go, Mum and I quickly search something nice for Zoe. Thanks to Su Yin who has to go in and out the store to get Zoe to fit on her new clothing and of course it's not so easy. Zoe is fascinoted with the 'animal cap' that was dislay in the store. Anyway, we mange to bring her out of the store and head to Mong Kok Char Chan Teng for lunch.

After having a few crumbs of her favourite biscuit, Zoe become restless. So, I brought her back to the shopping mall and put her on the trolley. Guess what, she love the trolley drive! At least I could divert her attention from being cranky.

At 9 months, she seems to enjoy 'window shopping' staring from the window to admire little teddy bears display. We had a great lunch that day.

Both Zoe and I enjoy the day out but regret Daddy can't make it that day as Daddy is working. Anyhow, Zoe still enjoy her dinner together with Daddy.

Zoe,

Mummy look forward for more outing together with you and delighted to see your happy face!

I'm 9 months old!

Today Zoe's is 9 months old. She's now able to understand more instructions and will look at the right person when we asked her too. For instance, when we ask her where's Daddy?, she will instantly look at her Daddy and smile (of course now clap!) It really melt Daddy's heart.

During this time, Zoe's perfecting her clapping technique, so everytime she sits down she'll clap her hand. Mummy miss you today since you're at Mah Mah house. Can't wait to fetch you on Wed.

HAPPY 9 MONTHS OLD, BABY!

Baby...Clap...Clap...Clap

Today Zoe finally able to clap her hands! All this while, Zoe has been clapping air, therefore Zoe's so excited about her new learned skills and not shy to clap her hands all the time.

3 more days Zoe will be 9 months old. Let's see how Zoe mark her big leap this time!

Kao Fu's Registration Day....finally!

There's more to celebrate during this year CNY. My brother finally decided to get registered while waiting for the BIG CHINESE BANQUET next year. Early in the morning Gong Gong wake Zoe up and dress her like a princess. As if Princess Zoe sense the big day, she did not complain for all the fuss!

It's a simple ceremony in the Registrar Office but Zoe manage to enjoy herself playing the decor and make herself presence with 'bu', 'ahh!' and 'eh!'

Wishing Kao Fu all the best wishes!!

Zoe's visit to the Doctor

Zoe is now 7.9kg and an energetic baby. Today we have a doctor appointment for Zoe as she is due for her injection. Never wake a sleeping baby anyhow. Zoe is cranky when Gong Gong woke her up at 8pm for her doctor's visit. Zoe waited impatiently in the clinic and cry uncontrollably even before she's injected. Poor girl!

Anyway, it's lucky that Zoe follow Gong Gong's car home, 'coz while Daddy and I were driving home, a 4wd knocked on the car we're on. What a relief Zoe is not with us, or else the impact will definitely shock her.

Now, it's peaceful to see Zoe's sleeping soundly while I wrote this. Will update further as Zoe is going to be 9 months old end Feb.

1st CNY Celebration with Zoe

CNY is an exciting day for Zoe, which is her first CNY celebration. Lanterns, lighting and fire crackers keeps Zoe awake all night, well she has decided to make sure she didn't miss out anything.

Before CNY, Zoe has only limited exposure to Daddy, Mummy, Gong Gong, Po Po, Mah Mah and of course Kao Fu Chai and Chek Chek. Therefore on 1st day of CNY, Zoe is quite agitated with people fussing around her. Luckily my 'Baby' get used to the environment fast and not long start mingle around with other relative. What's more, when she see little children, she has no reservation but to crawl to her 'little friends'.

1st day of CNY ended fast and Zoe is too exhausted that she slept on the way home to Semenyih. That's all for the 1st day. Good night Zoe!

Zoe's First X'mas

Zoe celebrated her 1st X'mas in 2008 when she is 5 months and 2 days. It's another exciting and exploration day for Zoe. She's fascinated with the lights on the X'mas tree and curious about all the fuss we have when putting up the tree. Of course by her own way, Zoe is helping ( she ensure her Mummy remembers to put up her Teddy Bear on the tree as well!)

We celebrated X,mas Eve in Citidel as a family. However the activities have speed up Zoe's exhaustion. She become very cranky even before we start of with our meal. Luckily, we managed to get a few shot of her with the party packs and oh yes...with Gong Gong and Po Po

The whole X'mas is quite tiring for the 1st timer but we're glad that Zoe enjoy unwrapping her present on X'mas night, where she stay up late just for this tradition.

To our Baby Zoe:
"This X'mas is a memorable X'mas for Daddy & Mummy coz 'Baby' has celebrated this meaningful day with us. We thank God for this special gift. We know that every step Baby takes will gives us different meaning and learning. WE LOVE U, BABY!"

Zoe's Home Again!

Today Zoe's 8 months and 13 days old. She's getting better and better in recognising people around her. She was so excited when she heard Daddy's voice when we fetched her from Mah Mah's house, even though she's really...really sleepy at that time. Hmm... I wonder when can she start calling Ma Ma or Da Da. Can't wait for that!

Entering the New Frontier

It has never occur to me to blog but after reading a blog here, baby bok choi has enlighten me that this is a way to communicate and tell my little princess stories-her very own stories.

On 23rd May 2008, a clear Friday afternoon when Zoe was brought to this world. She has made a difference in our lives. The whole family was thrilled with her presence even though we have to deal with her screaming, sleepless nights and doctor visits.

Zoe is now 8 months old and an energetic girl who is generous with her smile. It's easy to make her gigle but it's easy to upset her to tears. I guess this is part of the growing up process. :)
